Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Assistant to support our laundry operations on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for individuals who are organized, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and textile care. The Laundry Assistant will be responsible for performing laundry services efficiently while adhering to safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring that all linens, garments, and textiles are processed accurately and promptly.
Duties
- Operate laundry equipment such as industrial washers, dryers, and garment care machines to process textiles effectively.
- Handle materials with care, including sorting, folding, and organizing linens and garments according to established procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all laundry areas by following proper cleaning protocols.
- Use appropriate laundry detergents and cleaning agents safely while adhering to safety standards in production.
- Assist with the transportation of laundry using push carts or other materials handling tools, ensuring heavy lifting is performed safely.
- Monitor machine operation and perform routine maintenance checks to prevent malfunctions or breakdowns.
- Support the overall laundry process by performing manual handling tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during laundry operations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, textile cleaning methods, and laundry services.
- Experience operating garment care machines, industrial dryers, and other laundry equipment.
- Ability to handle materials safely with manual handling skills and proper use of push carts.
- Basic math skills for measuring detergents, calculating load weights, or managing inventory levels.
- Familiarity with safety standards in production environments to ensure a safe working space.
- Excellent attention to detail for garment care, sanitation, and quality control.
- Good customer service skills when interacting with staff or guests regarding laundry needs.
- Knowledge of hotel or hospitality industry standards related to linen management is a plus.
