The Academic Interventionist is a member of the Response to Intervention Team who reports directly to the Head of School. When educators like you join The Oaks Academy, they experience a renewed love of teaching and caring for the unique learning needs of children.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Head of School, Director of K-2, Director of RTI, and lead teachers to identify the literacy and math needs of students, to set learning goals and targets, and to problem-solve with teachers to develop best practices for continuous academic growth of students.
• Assists teachers with the collection of data and analysis of data
• Teaches targeted literacy and math interventions to individual and small groups of students using research-based strategies and provided instructional resources
• Coordinates site testing
• Attends professional development to enhance knowledge of pedagogy and content, especially literacy and math
• Maintains and submits accurate and up-to-date records of all students’ progress

Founded in 1998, The Oaks Academy is a Christ-centered school that exists to provide a rich, classical education to children of diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds, preparing them to succeed in a rigorous secondary educational program and to demonstrate spiritual, social and emotional maturity. Currently on three campuses, serving 1,100 students, The Oaks Academy  continues to grow to serve more children. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid Indiana License for assigned student grade levels
• Three or more years of teaching ready and math with a proven track record of facilitating significant student gains
• Orton Gillingham certified (The Oaks is willing to provide this training)
• Devout Christian who is a member of, or associated with, or searching to be associated with a Christ-centered community of faith or church
