Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Site Superintendent to lead on-site operations for a ground-up, wood-frame multifamily development in Poughkeepsie, NY. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a proven ability to manage construction sites efficiently, ensure safety compliance, and deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision & Project Oversight:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking to completion, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Lead daily site operations, supervise subcontractors, coordinate materials, and ensure all tasks are executed efficiently and on schedule.
Schedule & Workflow Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to meet key milestones and deadlines.
- Monitor daily progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
Budget Control & Value Engineering:
- Ensure all project activities remain within approved budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value-engineering solutions without compromising quality or safety.
Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance:
- Enforce strict safety protocols, including OSHA standards, to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality expectations and aligns with project specifications.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, and on-site labor to ensure compliance with scope, quality, and timelines.
- Act as the primary on-site liaison for stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and resolving issues promptly.
Construction Documentation:
- Maintain detailed site records including daily logs, progress reports, change orders, and safety documentation.
- Utilize project management tools such as Procore to track progress, manage tasks, and report updates to project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of construction management or site supervision experience, with a strong focus on wood-frame residential and ground-up construction.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in construction management platforms such as Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid knowledge of construction techniques, materials, safety standards, and building systems.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Core Competencies:
- Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of local building codes, permitting processes, and multifamily construction practices in New Jersey.
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $95,000 – $115,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
- Bonus Potential: Performance-based bonuses available based on milestones and project success
