Associate Attorney – Family Law & Civil Litigation
The Nunley Law Group, PLLC is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our growing litigation practice. Our office handles a diverse caseload with a significant concentration in family law and civil litigation.
This position is well suited for an attorney who wants meaningful, hands-on litigation experience and the opportunity to take an active role in cases rather than simply performing research and behind-the-scenes work.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing family law and general civil litigation matters
- Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence
- Conducting and responding to discovery
- Attending court hearings, conferences, depositions, and mediations
- Communicating directly with clients and opposing counsel
- Assisting with trial preparation and trying cases as experience permits
- Managing deadlines and maintaining responsibility for assigned files
- Trail experience a bonus
Qualifications:
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Good judgment, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with other attorneys and staff
- Family law and/or civil litigation experience is preferred, but we will consider a newer attorney with strong writing skills, initiative, and an interest in litigation
Compensation:
Base salary of approximately $70,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a performance-based bonus.
Associates are eligible to receive a bonus equal to 15% of collected fees for legal services personally performed by the associate in excess of $175,000 annually, providing significant additional earning potential for a productive attorney.
We are looking for someone who wants to develop as a litigator, take ownership of cases, and become an important part of a small law firm where good work and initiative are noticed.
