Position Summary:
The Children’s Ministry Director will lead and oversee all aspects of ministry for children from birth through 5th grade. This individual will cultivate a Christ-centered, safe, and engaging environment where children can grow in their faith, experience God’s love, and learn biblical truths in creative and age-appropriate ways. The ideal candidate will have a heart for ministry, a passion for equipping volunteers, and the ability to partner with families in nurturing the next generation of believers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vision & Leadership
- Develop and implement a dynamic vision and strategy for the Children’s Ministry that aligns with the mission and values of Now Church.
- Provide strong spiritual and organizational leadership for all children’s programs and events.
- Volunteer Recruitment & Development
- Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage a dedicated team of volunteers and ministry leaders.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, joy, and service within the Children’s Ministry team.
- Curriculum & Programming
- Select and adapt biblically-based, age-appropriate curriculum for weekly classes and special events.
- Create engaging lessons, worship experiences, and hands-on activities that bring Scripture to life.
- Family Partnership
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, offering resources and encouragement to help them lead their children spiritually at home.
- Build meaningful relationships with families and foster a sense of community within the ministry.
- Safety & Administration
- Maintain a secure environment through volunteer background checks, child check-in procedures, and safety protocols.
- Oversee ministry budgets, supplies, and scheduling to ensure smooth and effective operations.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with pastoral staff and other ministry leaders to ensure alignment and support across the church.
- Participate in staff meetings, church-wide events, and leadership development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ who lives out a growing personal relationship with Him.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Children’s Ministry, Christian Education, or a related field (required).
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in children’s ministry leadership or education setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Creative, energetic, and passionate about helping children know and love God.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and lead volunteers effectively.
