We are growing in Connecticut and looking for a Senior Executive Director to join our team!

The primary focus of the Senior Executive Director will be to first perform all the duties as the Executive Director for their primary community. The Senior Executive Director will play a crucial role in the overall leadership, management and operational success of their primary community ensuring exceptional resident care, compliance with applicable regulations, state and federal labor laws, and Northbridge standards of excellence, financial performance, team engagement and a strong community culture aligned with the Northbridge mission and values.   
 
In coordination with the SVP/Regional VP/Director of Operations, the Senior Executive Director will provide targeted support to assigned communities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Offer guidance and operational assistance as needed, fostering alignment and consistency across locations.
  • Provide direct leadership and temporary coverage during leadership vacancies, performing Executive Director duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the hiring, onboarding, and orienting new Executive Directors and support communities experiencing leadership transition or performance challenges.
  • Assist Executive Directors in designing, developing, and executing comprehensive operational oversight plans.
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes, including gathering documentation, preparing reports, and supporting compliance reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic guidance on strengthening community operations, assist in developing and executing comprehensive operational oversight plans.
  • Serve as both a mentor and coach, offering structured, ongoing support and training to build leadership capacity and promote long-term success.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to operational policies and procedures.
Operational Oversight:
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the community including but not limited to resident care, culinary services, resident engagement, maintenance & housekeeping.
  • Monitor and improved operational processes to ensure efficiency and exceptional service.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, Northbridge standards and industry best practices.
  • Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with department directors to ensure coordination across services and alignment with community goals.
  • Support the development, implementation, and enforcement of emergency preparedness plans and safety protocols.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through staff feedback, resident satisfaction surveys, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead or support readiness for inspections, surveys, and licensing visits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented as needed.
Financial Management:
  • In collaboration with the Regional VP/Director of Operations develop annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitor financial performance, report monthly performance, and implement strategies to meet budgeted revenue and expense targets/goals.
  • Manage occupancy and retention through effective sales, marketing, and community resource engagement strategies.
Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide visionary leadership to all department directors and team members.

  • Foster a professional culture of accountability, collaboration, and resident-centered care.
Resident Care & Quality Assurance:
  • Ensures residents receive exceptional compassionate care in an engaging and safe environment.
  • Oversee and actively participate in the resident evaluation process, move in/ out coordination, resident orientation.
  • Promote dignity, independence, and quality of life for all residents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, resident and family relations.
  • Oversee compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison with residents and their respective families, address concerns and ensure satisfaction.
Community Engagement:
  • Represents and serves as the face of the community with residents, families, associates, and external partners.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, local organizations, external partners, and healthcare providers.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts to attract new residents and maintain or exceed budgeted occupancy levels.
Qualifications & Requirements: 
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, gerontology, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Great interpersonal skills and resident relations.
