Seasonal Winter Lights Ticketing Agent
Help guests experience Asheville's BRIGHTEST holiday tradition at The North Carolina Arboretum's Winter Lights show while earning some seasonal cash! As part of our seasonal team, you'll help bring this wonder to life, ensuring that our guests enjoy cozy, memorable evenings surrounded by beauty. Winter Lights is our largest fundraiser and proceeds are used to fund local jobs, enhance our garden and trail experiences and provide nature-based education to youth in our region.
We are currently seeking a Winter Lights Ticketing Agent to work daytime hours, 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday. The pay is $16.00 per hour. In addition to providing excellent guest service and engagement, this role will perform ticket sales for the Winter Lights show using the EventBrite system. This position may involve cash management duties and may occasionally assist with gatehouse duties including controlling vehicular access to the NC Arboretum.
Duties will include answering telephone calls, providing excellent customer service through various forms of communication, processing refunds and exchanges and general troubleshooting. It will require answering questions, assisting customers with issues and is solution-based. Ideal candidates will be comfortable working on computers and able to learn and grasp new software fairly quickly. As directed, this position will also provide support to TNCA staff with Winter Lights related tasks involving guest services and ticketing.
This role will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. and will work 16-30 hours per week through January 4, 2026. Holiday availability is required of all positions. Weekend work is also required.
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
Winter Lights is the primary fundraiser for The North Carolina Arboretum. Featuring over a million lights, guests will walk through the gardens to experience the show. Including rehearsal evenings, Winter Lights runs every evening from November 15th through January 4th.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
The Guest and Ticket Services role will be expected to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Holiday availability is REQUIRED.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
Applicants must be 18 years or older. A high school diploma or equivalent are preferred

Customer Service: This position will require strong customer service skills including a solid knowledge of event procedures, attentiveness to customer feedback and the ability to use positive language. Communication: Must have excellent and courteous written and verbal communication skills for interaction with both internal and external publics. Ability to screen and direct clients and visitors to the appropriate source, inform the public about services, processes, procedures and guidelines. This position will need to follow both written and oral instructions. Work Management: Ability to coordinate tasks and establish priorities in response to work flow, be detail-oriented and have a high level of organization. Must be able to manage multiple projects with accuracy and exhibit stellar time management skills. Technology: Proficient use of computers including Microsoft Office and Google Suite, as well as the ability to navigate and learn new programs quickly. Adheres to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses
