Set the Standard for Every Kitchen We Build.
You’ve spent years mastering the craft of finish carpentry. You know what it takes to deliver work that is clean, precise, and built to last.
As a Lead Carpenter at Norfolk Kitchen & Bath, you’ll take ownership of high-visibility showroom and residential installations, guiding projects from planning through final walkthrough. For nearly a century, Norfolk Kitchen & Bath has been building trust since 1934. As a fourth-generation, family-owned company, we design, manufacture, distribute, and install our own cabinetry throughout New England. This means steady, year-round work and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in creating the craftsmanship our customers see and enjoy every day.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the installation of custom cabinetry, countertops, and finish carpentry for showroom and residential projects, including work in occupied homes.
- Review assigned projects with the Project Manager to understand the scope, timeline, materials, and subcontractor responsibilities before work begins.
- Take ownership of quality control, complete punch lists throughout each phase of the project, and provide documentation for Project Manager review.
- Supervise the jobsite and uphold high standards for safety, workmanship, cleanliness, and professionalism.
- Mentor and develop Apprentices, Level 1, and Mid-Level Carpenters through clear instruction, hands-on training, and consistent expectations.
- Independently troubleshoot fit-and-finish challenges and apply sound judgment when adapting plans on-site.
- Identify scope changes, site conditions, or potential budget concerns early and communicate them before additional work proceeds.
- Coordinate work efficiently to minimize repeat trips, reduce downtime, and keep projects moving according to schedule.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation, including time records, photos, punch list items, and job logs within the project management system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite, including proper dust protection, tool organization, and truck inventory.
- Serve as a trusted on-site point of contact for Designers, Project Managers, subcontractors, and clients.
What You Bring:
- 10 years of experience in carpentry, custom cabinet installation, or finish carpentry, including experience working in occupied residential spaces.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing other carpenters on active jobsites.
- Strong expertise in high-end finish carpentry and custom installation work.

- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment when addressing installation challenges on-site.
- Clear and professional communication skills when working with homeowners, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through with documentation, punch lists, and established quality standards.
