Sanitation Worker Job Summary
Our food processing plant is looking for a hardworking Sanitation Worker. In this role, you will use USDA-approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces, sanitize all components of our food production and processing equipment, and ensure that there is no unnecessary waste along the assembly line. You will also clean the floors, ensure that the building ventilation is clean and working correctly, and refill sanitary products and soap in the bathrooms. Since we provide consumable products for sale and distribution to the public, we expect you to report any potential contamination issues. You may be asked to help with other packaging or processing tasks as needed.
Sanitation Worker Duties and Responsibilities
- Use approved chemicals to disinfect surfaces
- Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble food processing equipment
- Dispose of waste along the assembly line
- Sweep and mop the floors
- Dust ventilation ducts to ensure proper airflow
- Refill soap and hand towels in the bathrooms
- Report potential issues to management
- Must be able to work Sunday - Thursday 9:30pm-6am
Working hours are Sun-Th 9:30pm-6am.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
- 2 years of experience in a canning or bottling production environment
- Experience operating canning and bottling equipment
- Experience with quality control procedures
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to operate and maintain canning and bottling equipment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
