What are the responsibilities and job description for the Right of Way Agent position at The NLS Group?
NLS is accepting resumes for local Right of Way land agents around for a long term support position in Waltham, MA.
Contact landowners regarding the acquisition of easements, survey notifications, right of entry, settlement of claims, damages, and other matters. Must be familiar with a line list and keep it up to date daily. Must be able to read maps and property descriptions and conduct negotiations in a professional manner. Prepare reports of daily activity with landowners and solve difficult negotiations for easements, permit acquisition and settlements. Must have great communication with the ROW Manager and be assessable at all times. A workday shall be defined as those hours necessary to adequately conclude assigned work in a timely manner. Work may frequently include evening hours in able to negotiate with landowners. Be able to plot metes and bounds descriptions of property and read a variety of maps. He/she must have the ability to timely identify, address and communicate unforeseen potential project problems or events as they occur to company. Experience on a FERC jurisdictional project is preferred; must be formally trained in a variety of Right-of-Way disciplines; must be proven in the examination and interpretation of public records; must be proven in dealing with the general public and governmental authorities; must be able to work in an environment with minimal supervision; must be proficient in acquisition of pipeline, power line, communication, surface easements and fee land purchases; must be familiar with condemnation procedures; must have good written and oral communication skills; and, must possess a complete understanding of all the legal agreements associated with any given project and legal documents of any nature pertaining to the Right-of-Way field; proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) for the purpose of document preparation, project reporting, presentations, and general information retrieval.
