NIRO Facilities Management is hiring a full time Commercial Snow Removal Route Supervisor to lead field execution during winter events and drive readiness, training, and site performance between storms. This is a high trust role for a steady, decisive leader who blends hands on field leadership with disciplined planning and documentation.

Position overview
You will own the performance of assigned commercial routes before, during, and after snow and ice events. When storms are not active, you will focus on route readiness, equipment coordination, training, site walks, client support, and continuous improvement of our snow and ice program.

  • Lead multiple plow and sidewalk teams across assigned commercial properties
  • Confirm staffing, call outs, and subcontractor coverage ahead of each event
  • Coordinate equipment checks and staging for trucks, loaders, skid steers, pushers, and spreaders
  • Execute pretreatment plans and ensure proper deicing strategy per site needs
  • Adjust deployment based on weather, site conditions, and real time field updates
  • Operate equipment as needed to support route completion, including loaders, skid steers, and plow trucks
  • Conduct in field inspections during and after events
  • Capture clear photos and notes for QA and client documentation
  • Resolve service gaps quickly and professionally
  • Track material usage including bulk salt and bagged product
  • Enforce safety standards, SOPs, and site specific requirements
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch, operations leadership, and account managers

Additional responsibilities between storms

  • Perform routine site walks to confirm priority areas, stacking zones, and access plans
  • Update route books with maps, notes, photos, high risk zones, and property specific expectations
  • Lead preseason and in season tailgate training for drivers and sidewalk crews
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and performance coaching for crew leads and operators
  • Build and maintain readiness checklists for equipment, tools, and winter supplies
  • Coordinate minor repairs and preventative maintenance with fleet partners
  • Conduct salt inventory checks and help manage material staging plans
  • Review service feedback and claims trends to drive corrective actions
  • Assist with documentation standards for time, materials, and event logs
  • Participate in client meetings as needed to align expectations and review performance
  • Help refine SOPs and safety practices based on lessons learned
  • Support yard organization and storage standards tied to winter readiness
  • Contribute to route optimization planning to reduce response times and increase consistency

Required qualifications

  • Proven commercial snow and ice management experience
  • Prior leadership experience as a foreman, lead driver, or supervisor preferred
  • Must be able to confidently operate loaders, skid steers, and plow trucks
  • Strong knowledge of plowing patterns, salting strategy, sidewalk clearing, and storm timing
  • Ability to prioritize multiple sites and make fast, sound decisions
  • Strong documentation habits with comfort using mobile apps or field reporting tools
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Ability to meet client site requirements as needed

Preferred qualifications

  • CDL a plus
  • Experience managing subcontractor networks
  • Familiarity with route tracking, timekeeping, or field operations software

Physical and schedule expectations

  • Ability to work outdoors in severe winter conditions
  • Ability to walk properties, climb in and out of equipment, and assist crews when needed
  • Availability for extended shifts during active storms including nights, weekends, and holidays
