What are the responsibilities and job description for the Science Teacher position at The Newman School?
The Newman School is seeking a full-time Science Teacher. Newman School faculty report directly to the Assistant Head of School and are a member of an educational department. The teacher is responsible for planning and implementing the course curriculum, as designed and assigned by the department chair, and meeting the departmental major objectives. In addition to teaching, Newman faculty advise a group of students and contribute to the overall program (clubs, activities, athletics) the equivalent of one out of two terms. The successful candidate will be a passionate educator who is committed to the mission of Newman and displays a sensitivity to and understanding of students with diverse learning styles. The science teacher will foster a positive, structured, and caring environment, while also adhering to the goals of the International Baccalaureate - to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
