About Our Summer Camp:
Our K-5 summer camp provides an engaging, hands-on STEAM experience designed to spark curiosity and inspire a lasting love of learning throughout the summer.
Job Summary:
Teacher assistants will serve alongside lead teachers in the ‘26 Summer Camp, supporting the delivery of engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities for K-5th grade students under the guidance of lead teachers. Through rotating weekly themes such as, Going Green, Bugs/Pond, Great Outdoors, Party in the U.S.A., Engineers Workshop, Mysteries, and Trip to Europe, students will participate in collaborative, project-based learning experiences that creatively integrate STEAM concepts. Teacher assistants will contribute to an energetic, inclusive, and supportive environment where students are encouraged to explore, experiment, and build critical thinking and problem-solving skills alongside experienced educators.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists in planning and developing engaging, age-appropriate STEAM lessons for K-5th grade students
Supports the design and delivery of hands-on, project-based learning experiences
Helps prepare materials and set up for lessons and activities
Assists with classroom setup and organization at the beginning of camp
Observes and documents student engagement and participation
Provides encouragement and support to students during activities
Assists with assessing student learning using developmentally appropriate methods
Offers positive feedback focused on effort and problem-solving
Supports classroom teachers in managing student behavior
Helps establish and reinforce classroom rules and procedures
Maintains a safe, inclusive, and well-organized learning environment
Enforces safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors
Maintains accurate records of student attendance and incidents as directed
Works collaboratively with lead teacher and other camp staff
Communicates student progress and concerns professionally with supervisors
Participates in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
Supports and upholds summer camp policies and mission
Performs other duties as assigned
Ability to assist with varied instructional approaches and learning styles
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to remain professional
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Creative problem-solving abilities
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma (minimum)
Some experience working with children preferred
Previous classroom or camp experience a plus
Physical Requirements (with or without accommodations):
Standing to assist with instruction/activities
Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds occasionally
Ability to bend, lean, stoop, kneel, or crouch to interact with students at various heights
Close and distance vision for classroom supervision and instructional support
