Guest Services Agent

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Guest Services Agent to join our team at The New London Inn. This is a hybrid position combining front desk and housekeeping duties. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, providing exceptional guest service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere as well as playing a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Duties

• Greet guests with a warm welcome and assist them with genuine care.
• Strong computer literacy with proficiency in Google Suite applications.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain professionalism while handling multiple responsibilities.
• A friendly demeanor with strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with guests and team members.
• Manage incoming calls, emails, and inquiries with appropriate phone etiquette.
• Efficiently make reservations and take cancellations for the inn and restaurant.
• Utilize Google Suite for various administrative tasks.
• Provide information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions
• Ensure the lobby area is clean and presentable at all times.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing various areas of the inn
• Ensure all guest rooms and common areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained following check-out.
• Perform daily housekeeping service upon request.
• Handle laundry services including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or needs to management.
• Follow established safety protocols while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Assist with special cleaning projects as needed, such as deep cleaning or seasonal maintenance.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to guest requests or concerns regarding cleanliness.

Experience

• Previous experience in a front desk or housekeeping role is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
• Familiarity with hotel or hospitality environments is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
