The Security Department of The New Jewish Home is seeking a full time Security Supervisor to join our team!
Job Summary:
Under the Direction of the Director of Safety and Security, oversees and monitors the day to day security department operations. Assist in monitoring and maintain the Environment of Care facility wide rounds.
Reports To: The Director of Safety ad Security
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and guidance to department personnel.
- Supervises a\ll shift operations
- Reviews reports and follow up on necessary investigations
- Orientates and in services all staff on all shifts
- Assist the Director in completing performance evaluations
- Maintain staff schedules
- Maintains department equipment i.e, radios and staff uniforms
- Assist in conducting regulatory required audits as necessary
Specialized Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to conduct and effectively document regulatory required Fire Drill Exercises.
- Ability to maintain the Resident Wander Guard Elopement Prevention Program.
- Ability to train, and orient newly hired Officers
Age Related Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to satisfactorily interact with the adult and elderly population
- Must have good interpersonal skills, with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires the ability to function without supervision.
- Must be able to maintain complete confidentiality.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- College Degree Preferred
- Five years Security experience
- Five years Supervisory experience’
- Must Maintain NYS Security Guard License
- Must possess a F07 Fire Drill Conductor, or obtain within 3 months of hire date.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to reach, bend, walk, push, pull, and lift up to 30lbs throughout the shift.
- Ability to use Safety/Security equipment including but not limited to Video Surveillance Systems, Visitor Management Systems, Basic Computer comprehension, and Fire Extinguishers.
- Ability to be called upon 24/7 when necessary, via NJH cell phone

Salary : $70,000 - $73,000
