What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Aide position at The New Interdisciplinary school (NIS)?

As a One-to-One Aide, you’ll work closely with one student, supporting their IEP goals and helping them learn, grow, and thrive in a caring, inclusive environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Team up with the classroom teacher to help your assigned child meet their IEP goals.
- Create a warm, supportive, and fun environment that helps your student feel safe and confident.
- Assist with daily activities and transitions throughout the school day.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative relationship with teachers, staff, and families.
- Follow school policies, training, and safety guidelines (including universal precautions).
- Be ready for anything, from learning moments to lifting smiles (and occasionally a 45-lb child).
What You Bring:
- A High School Diploma or GED (required)
- A caring, patient personality and great interpersonal skills
- Willingness to jump in, learn, and grow with our team
- ABA or RBT experience? That’s a major plus!
