What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Teacher's Assistant- Substitute position at The New Interdisciplinary school (NIS)?
A Certified Teacher's Assistant- substitute will support the work of classroom teachers. In addition to instruction in the absence of the classroom teacher, certified teacher's assistant may assist with the planning and execution of special activities. They may also assist in preparing and executing classroom activities and supervise student activities on playground, and hallways, and other locations as requested.
Qualifications
- Paraprofessional Certification or Teaching Certification
- Classroom management skills
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting
- Strong communication skills
- Special education knowledge or experience
- Ability to plan and execute lessons effectively in the absence of the teacher
- Understanding of early childhood education and childhood development
- Experience working with individuals with autism a plus!
- Background in daycare, toddler care, or preschool education
- Proficiency in behavior management techniques a plus!
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.50 per hour
