This position is responsible for evaluating a range of components, including but not limited to breakers, meters, and controllers, to determine potential defects and performance issues. The findings generated from testing activities directly inform root cause analyses and assist in making accurate disposition decisions.

The Electrical Component Tester works closely with Product Services, Engineering, and Field Service teams to ensure that testing data is captured, communicated, and used to improve product reliability and service outcomes. In addition to technical testing, this role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with data entry and digital tools, and the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment. By delivering precise, well-documented assessments of returned components, the Electrical Component Tester plays a vital role in quality assurance, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

  • Set up and connect equipment for testing activities, ensuring correct positioning and configuration in accordance with safety and procedural guidelines.
  • Conduct functional testing of electrical components and accurately document findings related to performance, root cause analysis, and final disposition.
  • Complete all required documentation, including Material Review Reports (MRR), Corrective Action Reports (CAR), and other testing logs or quality records.
  • Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) process to support decision-making related to defective or returned materials.

  • Manage the movement of materials through the testing workflow, ensuring timely processing and communication across departments.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve testing procedures, tools, and documentation to enhance process efficiency and support organizational goals.
  • Maintain oversight of calibration schedules and preventative maintenance for all test bench equipment, meters, and measurement tools used in Field Service Product Services (FS-PS) testing.
