Compensation: $55-60k yearly

Position Overview: 

The Small Business Resource Network (SBRN) is seeking a motivated and community-oriented Full-Time Business Outreach Specialist to join our team. This role serves as the primary point of contact between SBRN and local small businesses. The Outreach Specialist will actively engage with business owners to raise awareness of available resources, support services, and opportunities designed to help their businesses grow and succeed. Ideal candidates are personable, proactive, and passionate about supporting small business development within the community. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Business Engagement: Proactively engage with businesses in the community through various outreach methods (e.g., in-person visits, phone calls, virtual meetings) to introduce them to the SBRN's mission and array of resources. 
• Resource Discussion: Clearly and enthusiastically discuss the many resources, programs, and services the SBRN provides to small businesses, tailoring the conversation to their specific needs and interests. 
• Information Collection: Accurately collect and record essential business information, including contact details, industry, and areas of interest. 
• Data Entry: Input all collected business information and outreach activity details into our Salesforce CRM system in a timely and organized manner. 
• Flexibility and Support: While primarily focused on business outreach, be prepared to assist with other office tasks, events, and administrative duties as needed to support the overall SBRN team and the Bronx chamber of Commerce. 

Qualifications: 

• Associate’s degree in business, Communications, Public Administration, Community Development, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) 
• 4 years of experience in community outreach, small business support, customer service, or related public-facing roles 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse communities and business owners 
• Knowledge of small business operations, local economic development programs, or government-funded business resources is a plus 
• Comfortability conducting in-person outreach and business visits in various neighborhoods 
• Self-starter with the ability to be adaptable and work independently and manage multiple priorities 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and virtual meeting tools (e.g., Salesforce and Zoom) 
• Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred. 
• Familiarity with the local small business landscape and community organizations preferred 

Work Environment: 

• This is a full-time, in-person position. 
• Collaborative and team-oriented office environment 
• You must have a personal vehicle for this role, as it requires frequent travel to businesses across the entire borough. 
• Must be able to occasionally lift and carry office supplies and equipment weighing up to 20-40lbs. 
• May require some nights and weekends.
