JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for handling and routing all incoming calls, greeting patients and their families, registering patients, insurance verification as needed, scheduling new patient appointments and follow-ups, cash collections, and the proper handling of patient charts, among other things, under the general supervision of the Practice Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs day-to-day general office duties including but not limited to word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones, and data entry.
- Scheduling appointments, carefully screening patients for new addresses and update registration, and informing patient of adequate information that must be presented at the time of visit.
- Verifies patient benefit eligibility and coverage and documents in the EHR system.
- Obtains authorization/referral for office visits.
- Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness.
- Performs telephonic support for online authorization of office visits and procedures.
- Ensure complete and accurate data, including patient demographics, current insurance information, and update patient benefit information.
- Knowledge of Insurance carriers and contracted providers.
- Performs other duties as required.
Pay: $23.20 - $27.94 per hour
