What are the responsibilities and job description for the Referral Coordinator position at The Neurology Center of Southern California?
The Neurology Center is seeking a Referral Coordinator to join our practice in our Carlsbad office. The Referral Coordinator will work alongside the clinical staff to obtain authorization for all orders. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Organizational skills
- Time management skills
- Team player attitude
- Strong computer skills
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Obtain authorization from insurances via phone, fax, or online portal submission
- Coordinate appeals with Physicians
- Accurately document approvals/denials in EMR system
- Follow up on pending authorizations
- Fax Referrals to the appropriate Facilities
- Call patients to inform them of their Referral Approvals
Preferred experience:
- EPIC experience
- Experience with HMO, PPO'S, POS'S, EPO'S, and Medicare
- Experience receiving inbound calls from patients
