As a Guest Services Officer for the upcoming Painted Worlds exhibition (November 1, 2025 – February 8, 2026), you will play a key role in safeguarding the artwork and enhancing the visitor experience in a world-class cultural setting.
What You’ll Do
As a Guest Services Officer, you’ll ensure the protection of the museum’s collection while providing excellent customer service to visitors. Responsibilities include:
- Visitor Assistance: Engage with guests in a courteous and professional manner, answering questions and ensuring a positive experience.
- Art Protection: Monitor galleries and outdoor areas to prevent damage or theft of artworks and property.
- Situational Awareness: Handle stressful situations with confidence and diplomacy; report any security concerns to a supervisor.
- Emergency Response: Assist in the evacuation of visitors and staff in case of emergencies.
- Gallery Procedures: Conduct routine inspections, complete incident reports, and maintain a clean and safe environment in the exhibition space.

Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong work history with demonstrated reliability and attendance.
Core Competencies:
- Ability to follow museum policies and explain guidelines professionally.
- Strong observational skills and ability to remain alert for extended periods.
- Physical ability to stand for long hours, climb stairs, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding museum security procedures.
- Neat and professional appearance in compliance with uniform standards.

- Monday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Option 2:
- Thursday: 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM
- Friday: 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $15.45 per hour
This is a part-time, temporary position and does not include benefits.
