Essential Duties
- Warmly welcome patients upon arrival, ensuring a culture of compassionate care; verify appointment details, insurance coverage, and personal information in our database.
- Collect insurance co-payments and necessary documents, maintaining accurate records of financial transactions.
- Handle patient demographics over the phone, updating electronic medical records promptly and efficiently.
- Assist patients in navigating and utilizing the Patient Portal for seamless access to healthcare services.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of intake forms and fee slips before submission for processing.
- Professionally manage telephone inquiries, taking messages or directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and arrange translators when needed, adhering to clinic guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and security in patient waiting areas, upholding confidentiality and privacy regulations at all times.
- Perform additional tasks as delegated or required.
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training preferred.
- Strong understanding of multicultural communities, Indian culture, and social service systems.
- Prior experience in customer service and handling multi-line telephone systems preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and resolve conflicts when necessary.
- Proficient in proofreading and editing, with solid grammatical skills.
- Competent in using office equipment such as computers, photocopiers, scanners, and printers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and ability to learn other software programs as needed.
- Can lift 25-30 lb. items, sit for extended periods, and manage stress effectively.
- Willingness to travel locally and for training purposes.
- Commitment to supporting recovery-based lifestyles and patient outcomes.
- Completing criminal background checks, OIG checks, and pre-employment UA/BA.
