The National Mediation Board (NMB) promotes the flow of interstate commerce in the U.S. Airline and Railroad industries through mediation, representation, and arbitration of labor-management disputes. The incumbent serves as the Director, Office of Information Services (OIS), overseeing the overall planning, development, coordination, and evaluation of Agency information resources, records management, privacy, and the appropriate use of technology and cyber security.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Supporting implementation of agency/or organization-wide IT strategic plans by leveraging information technology theories, principles, concepts, standards, and practices, and directing the organization's information security environment
- Advising senior management officials on policies, practices, and standards for implementing national-level IT guidance and shaping agency-wide IT policy directives
- Serving as an expert advisor to top management officials on integrating information technology programs with other programs of comparable scope and complexity
