What are the responsibilities and job description for the Branch Manager position at The Narrow Lane?
Are you a self-directed leader who sees possibilities where others see problems?
Do you thrive when every day is different, when you're at the helm — building people, scaling systems, and growing revenue? If you're fueled by autonomy, driven to win, and passionate about leading both people and process in a way that turns outdoor spaces into lasting impressions… we're looking for you.
About the Role
We're hiring a Branch Manager to lead, and grow a high-performance landscaping branch. This role is the intersection of visionary leadership and on-the-ground hustle. You'll lead teams, delight clients, and expand our footprint — all while ensuring every job gets done with excellence.
This is not a "keep the trains running" management role — it's a builder's seat. You'll be responsible for:
Core Responsibilities
1. Client Relationships (Account Manager)
- Be the go-to contact for client onboarding, quality walks, and follow-ups.
- Uncover upsell opportunities and drive trust with white-glove communication.
- Expect responsiveness — 24-hour follow-up windows
2. Field Operations Oversight
- Direct daily crew logistics, schedules, and route planning.
- Ensure every service visit reflects our signature quality and craftsmanship.
- Balance quick pivots with structured execution.
3. Team Development & Culture
- Hire, coach, and develop crew leads and field staff.
- Lead daily standups and hold weekly check-ins with KPIs.
- Cultivate a team that takes pride in what they do and how they show up.
4. Sales Growth & Market Expansion
- Strategically upsell gardening clients into full-service contracts.
- Generate leads through local visibility and word-of-mouth presence.
- Proactively close enhancement projects and seasonal upsells.
5. Performance Metrics & Accountability
- Own the numbers: Revenue, margins, labor efficiency, and client retention.
- Report weekly KPIs with clarity and action plans.
Ideal Background
- 3–5 years in gardening, landscaping, and or a service-based operational role.
- Prior experience hiring/managing field teams.
- Strong client-facing communication skills.
- Proven ability to hit revenue goals, manage metrics, and drive upsells.
- Comfortable using field ops software and CRM tools.
You'll Love This If You…
- Get restless in overly structured roles.
- Prefer solving problems in real-time rather than waiting on approvals.
- Want a role that's equal parts strategy sweat.

- Competitive salary performance bonuses
- Company vehicle equipment
- 401k
- Leadership coaching and strategic ops training
