What are the responsibilities and job description for the MIDTOWN, NYC FAMILY SEEKS FULL-TIME NANNY position at The Nanny League, Inc.?
Overview
NEW YORK CITY, NY (LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY) – A warm family in Midtown East is seeking a FULL-TIME NANNY for their curious, friendly 21-month-old daughter. Candidates must have 5 years of nanny experience with proven tenure across multiple families and prior experience working in New York City.
Their daughter thrives on engagement and interaction. She naps ~2 hours each early afternoon and attends scheduled neighborhood activities (music classes, toddler gym). Beyond these, her days are intentionally flexible — the nanny will plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities supporting her cognitive, social, and emotional growth. This is a child-focused, highly interactive role for someone who genuinely enjoys reading, talking, exploring, playing, and actively shaping a child’s early experiences and outlook on the world.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–6:30 PM (45 hours guaranteed). Some flexibility on start/end time on Fridays. No travel or overnights. Responsibilities are strictly childcare-focused: managing her daily schedule, escorting her to classes, child-related household tasks, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
Ideal candidate: Safety-first mindset, highly engaging, knowledgeable about early childhood development, with prior toddler experience. Takes initiative in bringing an educational lens to everyday interactions. Strong emphasis on language development — native or near-native English speaker preferred. Warm, patient, emotionally mature, safety-focused, and always thinking one step ahead.
Requirements: Up-to-date TDAP, flu, MMR, and COVID vaccinations (including boosters).
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience, paid via payroll with overtime. Benefits include paid sick days, holidays, and vacation; $250/month healthcare stipend; monthly MTA OMNY card; workday lunch coverage. Annual raises and year-end bonus expected.
Start date: May 11th.
A wonderful opportunity for a career nanny who is passionate about early childhood development and seeks a long-term role with a thoughtful, engaged family.
