Position Summary
The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all bar and concessions operations across The Music Hall’s venues, with a strong emphasis on preparation, inventory control, staff scheduling, training, and compliance. This role is focused exclusively on Front of House bar and concessions functions.
This position is designed primarily as a swing-shift role (generally 11:00am–7:00pm or 12:00pm–8:00pm), ensuring strong daytime preparation of bar and concessions areas while overlapping with evening bartenders and House Managers to support smooth show openings and consistent service standards.
The Food and Beverage Manager plays a hands-on leadership role within the Front of House team, acting as the operational bridge between daytime setup and live performance execution. Bar or restaurant management experience is required; experience in live performance or event-based venues is strongly preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Bar & Concessions Operations
• Oversee all bar and concessions (all venues, including Lounge small bites) operations for performances, rentals, and special events.
• Ensure all bars are fully stocked, organized, and show-ready prior to doors opening.
• Maintain par levels and oversee ordering, receiving, storage, rotation, and security of inventory.
• Monitor inventory controls, POS reports, and deposit procedures.
• Program and maintain Square POS systems in coordination with Event Services needs.
• Ensure consistent menus, recipes, pricing, and service standards.
• Collaborate with House Managers and FOH leadership during events.
Staff Scheduling & Supervision
• Create and manage bartender schedules for shows and events.
• Provide on-site leadership during swing shifts and show openings.
• Serve as point of contact for bartenders during performances.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new bartenders.
Training & Performance
• Train bartenders on recipes, service standards, POS use, and compliance.
• Reinforce customer service expectations.
• Conduct regular check-ins and coaching.
Safety, Health & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain NH Liquor Commission and ServSafe training and documentation.
• Enforce responsible alcohol service.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized bar areas.
Qualifications
• 3–5 years bar or restaurant management experience required.
• Strong inventory and cost control experience.
• POS experience required (Square preferred).
• Knowledge of alcohol service laws and health regulations.
• Performance venue or event-based experience strongly preferred.
