We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with a strong background in Internal Medicine and hospitalist medicine to lead and oversee our outpatient clinic operations and post-acute services within skilled nursing facilities.
This executive leadership role is responsible for supervising physicians and nurse practitioners, driving clinical excellence, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across all care settings. The CMO will play a central role in clinical strategy, quality improvement, provider development, and operational integration to support sustainable growth and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Strategy
Provide clinical leadership and strategic oversight for the primary care outpatient clinic.
Develop and implement clinical protocols, policies, and quality improvement initiatives.
Monitor clinical performance metrics and drive measurable quality outcomes.
Promote continuity of care between hospital, outpatient, and post-acute settings.
Participate in direct patient care as needed.
Provider Oversight & Development
Supervise and support physicians and nurse practitioners providing care in nursing homes and post-acute settings.
Oversee provider recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, and performance evaluations.
Mentor clinical leaders and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Support multidisciplinary team integration, including NPs and PAs.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations (CMS, HIPAA, and other applicable standards).
Lead clinical governance initiatives and regulatory readiness efforts.
Strengthen quality metrics performance in value-based and post-acute care models.
Operational & External Collaboration
Collaborate with facility partners, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams.
Support operational integration across outpatient, hospital, and post-acute settings.
Contribute to strategic growth initiatives and expansion of integrated care services.
Qualifications
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
Experience as a Hospitalist strongly preferred.
Active, unrestricted medical license.
Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, with leadership experience preferred.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams (NPs and PAs).
Strong understanding of value-based care and quality metrics in post-acute settings.
