What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at The Mountain Mile?
THE ROLE
We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep all three centers clean, safe, and running smoothly. Your shift complements our Maintenance Manager's early one, giving the property coverage from morning through the evening rush. No trade license needed: if you're handy, reliable, and willing to learn, we'll train you on the specialized work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Perform daily inspections of common areas, walkways, parking lots, and building exteriors; fix or report issues.
- General repairs: doors, locks, hardware, drywall, painting, fixtures, signage, and site furnishings.
- Replace and troubleshoot interior, exterior, and parking lot lighting.
- Assist with basic plumbing (restroom fixtures, clogs, leaks) and HVAC upkeep (filter changes, basic checks) under the Maintenance Manager's direction.
- Respond to tenant work orders promptly and professionally, including afternoon and early-evening requests.
- Maintain landscaping, trash areas, and parking lots, including litter control and pressure washing.
- Set up and take down for events (concerts, movie nights, pop-up markets) and seasonal décor.
- Support snow/ice removal and storm response; coordinate and escort vendors on site.
- Operate property carts and equipment safely; keep the shop and tools organized.
- Complete end-of-day walkthroughs and hand off open items to the Maintenance Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 1 year of general maintenance, facilities, or handyman experience; comfortable with hand and power tools.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained.
- Friendly and professional with tenants and guests.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the property (carts provided on site).
- Able to pass a background check.
- Available weekends, holidays, and occasional after-hours. Our busiest days are everyone else's days off.
NICE TO HAVE (NOT REQUIRED)
- Electrical, plumbing, or HVAC experience; EPA 608 or other certifications; retail, hotel, or commercial property experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lift up to 50 lbs; stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, and kneel for extended periods; work outdoors in all weather.
WHY JOIN US
- Learn a trade on the clock with on-the-job electrical, plumbing, and HVAC training, in a steady full-time role at one of Pigeon Forge's highest-traffic properties.
- No sunrise alarm required, and plenty of variety: one day it's a leaky faucet, the next it's a concert setup.
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
Benefits:
- Professional development assistance
Work Location: In person
Salary : $20 - $28
