Job Description:
Mosquito and Pest Control Specialists conduct inspections of private property, applying pesticides, and educating customers on source reduction methods and pesticide application. Specialists must be able to provide excellent customer service and possess excellent communication skills. Mosquito and Pest Control Specialists are trained to follow all state and federal laws and regulations. The Specialists are under the direct supervision of the Lead Mosquito and Pest Control Specialist and works with the office manager and staff. Mosquito and Pest Control Specialist must be able to work from April/May until October.
Mosquito and Pest Control Specialist - Performance Standards:
Maintain accurate documentation of pesticide application in a timely manner; provide clear and accurate sketches to support field surveys. Provide outstanding customer service and address customer concerns courteously, in a timely manner and provide them with reliable information. Consistently provide appropriate treatments to residential and commercial properties.
Mosquito and Pest Control Specialist - Principal Duties:
- Provide excellent service through proper treatment techniques.
- Present Complimentary Service coupons to interested parties.
- Be knowledgeable of all services provided to help identify problems and offer service solutions.
- Communicate with the customer everything related to their application and future applications.
- Properly apply chemicals following all company, state, and federal regulations.
- Safely drive to and from the customer's location following all state and federal laws.
- Follow the assigned route and time line provided by the administrative staff to service accounts
- Communicate with the other members of Mosquito Authority staff any feedback pertinent to operations
- Keep all working areas neat and clean at all times.
- Operate a backpack fogger which weighs 60 lbs.
- Access database and mapping systems through mobile computing devices.
- Respond to management and customer service requests.
- Hang door hangers within the neighborhood of customers as directed.
- Responsible for accurately mixing and applying pesticides.
- Prepare daily field service reports and keeps accurate records of pesticide applications and other field activities.
- Knowledge:
- Must have adequate written and verbal English communication ability.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
- Qualified candidates must have high school diploma/GED or college degree.
- Must have and provide good driving record.
- Have beginner knowledge of IL pesticide regulations and requirements.
- Must be 18 years old or older.

- Ability to earn a General Standards Pesticide Certification via IL Dept. of Agriculture within 14 Days of Hire.
