Position Overview
We’re hiring a Grid Operations Industry Expert to lead training and consulting efforts for Electric System Operations. In this role, you’ll work closely with utility leaders, ops teams, and instructional designers to improve workforce readiness and operational performance.
You’ll assess current workflows, identify performance gaps, and help design practical, role-based training solutions that align with industry best practices. This is your chance to make a real impact in how utilities prepare their teams for the grid of tomorrow.
Location: This is a hybrid position open to candidates anywhere in the U.S.; however, for the first engagement, the selected candidate must travel frequently (50-75% of the time) to a client site in California.
What You’ll Do
- Consult & Advise utility leaders to identify skill gaps and recommend performance solutions.
- Optimize Business Processes by contributing to future-state design and aligning with cross-functional operational goals.
- Develop Training content and simulations in partnership with instructional designers.
- Evaluate Readiness by measuring training effectiveness and maintaining training databases.
- Deliver Training through engaging sessions, hands-on activities, and assessments.
- Build Client Relationships as a trusted advisor supporting long-term success.
What You Bring
- Strong experience in electric distribution, utility operations, or control room environments
- Knowledge of various utility operational roles and execution to be strategic advisors for utility clients.
- Operational expertise to help develop and deliver training for operational roles.
- Familiarity with SCADA/OMS platforms (ABB, OSI, GE, Schneider Electric)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills
- Business acumen to connect performance improvement with organizational goals

The compensation range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making hiring and compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to candidate skill set, consulting experience, training and education, competencies, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Mosaic strives to set salaries at, or near the 50th percentile (midpoint) of the range and it is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range for the position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $150,000.00 to $190,000.00. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program of up to 10% of annual compensation. The bonus program is dependent on a variety of factors including organizational and individual performance.
