The Design Manager is responsible for directing, designing, and executing creative strategies for marketing materials and campaigns across media channels. This position requires high-level creative thinking, conceptualization, problem-solving, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Essential Functions

- Meet with Creative Director and ministry partners at the inception of new jobs to determine project objectives, recognize marketing needs, and translate these into effective design solutions.
- Lead and/or participate in creative team meetings as needed to develop strategy for design and production.
- Deliver consistently excellent results in creativity and design from initial concept to completion and ensure that all projects adhere to Moody’s brand and graphic standards.
- Supervise the design team, providing excellent graphic design solutions for a wide variety of print and digital communication projects. Examples include direct mail, ads, catalogs, newsletters, brochures, event collateral, display graphics, websites, HTML emails, and more.
- Perform press checks on any projects requiring extra quality control.
- Work closely with the ministry partner contacts to help support their marketing goals and ensure efficient processes and excellent communication.
- Collaborate with MSC colleagues to ensure that all projects meet project goals and effectively communicate the Moody brand.
- Foster creative growth by mentoring, providing feedback, and encouraging a challenging, fulfilling creative environment.
- Oversee archives of digital art, photography, and project files.
- Stay current on industry technology, trends, and best practices and consistently apply in team work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a field related to art, graphic design, or equivalent experience
- Over five years of experience as a Graphic Designer/Art Director
- Exceptional ability and experience as a designer
- Experience in web design, new media, and HTML
- Experience directing the creative process and developing effective creative solutions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Strong knowledge/experience of file prep, print production, and associated finishing operations
- Excellent project management skills, ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
- Familiarity with vision and culture of Moody Bible Institute.
- Experience in an in-house agency or ad agency
- Experience with project management software such as Workamajig

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
This is a full-time hybrid position with varied hours and requires the team members to work in the office at least one day per week and possibly up to three days per week. Minimal travel (approximately 5%) is expected for this position,
