What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Therapist - Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program position at The Montrose Center?
LCSW, LMFT, or LPC therapist will provide professional individual, group, and couples/family counseling regarding a variety of life issues and behavioral health conditions in an atmosphere that is safe and affirming toward LGBTQ individuals and persons living with HIV/AIDS. Flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychosocial intake and assessments including a diagnosis according to the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, a diagnostic summary, treatment recommendations, referrals, and preliminary discharge plans.
- Conduct treatment planning with the participation of the client. Provide psychotherapy and counseling to achieve the objectives and goals in the treatment plan using generally recognized psychotherapy models and theories. Conduct periodic treatment plan reviews with the client.
- Conduct discharge planning with the participation of the client and complete a final discharge plan, discharge summary, and outcome measurements at the time of termination of therapy.
- Facilitate at least one evening per week of the Way Out Recovery substance use disorder treatment Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or Supportive Outpatient Program (SOP) groups. If one of these groups is unavailable for facilitation on a regular basis, work with the program director to create and facilitate another regular group, while providing backup support for the IOP/SOP groups.
- Attend and provide clinical consultation and feedback on client progress during weekly IOP/SOP staff meetings.
- Timely writing and entry of clinical progress notes in Electronic Health Record systems.
- Participate in on-call rotation for afterhours crisis calls.
Requirements Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Minimum of two (2) years experience in adult therapy, of which an internship or field placement will be considered. Substance Use Disorder treatment experience is preferred. Experience with treating trauma survivors is a plus. Bilingual Spanish or American Sign Language is a plus. If in recovery, no less than four (4) years substance-free.
