What are the responsibilities and job description for the LEAD CARPENTER / JOB FORMAN position at THE MONTGOMERY COMPANY?
The Montgomery Company is a custom home builder serving Macon County, Jackson County, and the surrounding areas. We are looking for a dependable Lead Carpenter / Working Foreman to help oversee day-to-day field operations and maintain the quality our clients expect.
This is a hands-on position. We are not looking for someone to sit behind a desk. We need someone who can lead crews, maintain quality, think ahead, and communicate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Daily jobsite oversight and quality control.
- Coordinate carpenters and subcontractors on site.
- Identify upcoming material needs and communicate them before they become emergencies.
- Help maintain project schedules and keep work moving.
- Perform carpentry, punch work, and miscellaneous tasks as needed.
- Pick up materials and make occasional deliveries using company vehicles or personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
- Keep jobsites organized, clean, and professional.
- Communicate progress and issues to the Project Manager.
- Read plans and ensure work is completed according to specifications.
Qualifications
- 5 years residential construction experience.
- Ability to read plans.
- Strong framing and general carpentry skills.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Self-motivated and dependable.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Professional attitude and good communication skills.
Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
