What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at The Montague Company?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize and schedule production activities based on scheduled orders
- Monitor and coordinate the flow of materials and products throughout the entire production cycle.
- Utilize ERP system to auto-generate and manage manufacturing work orders.
- Coordinate with Production Forecasting Manager to address material shortages and ensure timely part deliveries
- Notify Production Forecasting Manager of any schedule impacts and collaborate to resolve delays.
- Expedite manufacturing builds to meet delivery targets and internal goals.
- Oversee daily production operations and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure all processes and procedures are maintained and optimized for performance and quality.
- Recommend improvements to reduce costs and enhance productivity and product quality.
- Lead and motivate production teams to achieve goals and maintain high performance.
- Coordinate with team leads to resolve issues and improve efficiencies.
- Engage in regular meetings with upper management to align on targets and progress.
- Coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed.
- Oversee training of new hires.
- Conduct weekly safety inspections and coordinate safety training for new hires and existing staff.
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all safety programs and initiatives.
- Work with the safety committee to maintain functional safety protocols.
- Prepare and deliver production status metrics and reports to support decision-making.
- Maintain accurate records of order status
- Cover for production staff and floor management as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Production Forecasting Manager
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, or related work experience.
- Minimum 1 year of production planning experience in a related industry.
- 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Self-starter with a high level of reliability, accountability, and team collaboration.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
