Position Summary
The AVP, Enterprise Architect is a senior technology leadership role responsible for defining and driving the enterprise-wide architecture strategy that enables business growth, innovation, and operational excellence. This role will lead enterprise and solution architecture functions, shaping the long-term technology vision while ensuring alignment with business priorities.
As a key member of the IT leadership team, this individual will influence executive decision-making, establish architectural standards, and guide the organization through complex transformation initiatives. The AVP will play a critical role in modernizing the technology ecosystem, enhancing scalability and security, and delivering differentiated customer and business outcomes through technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and drive enterprise architecture strategy aligned with business objectives and long-term growth plans
- Lead and develop enterprise and solution architecture teams, establishing clear direction, governance, and accountability
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, influencing key technology and business decisions
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and governance models
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption, platform modernization, and data strategy
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and resilient solutions
- Establish and track architecture KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics to ensure alignment and continuous improvement
- Lead vendor strategy and technology evaluations, ensuring cost efficiency and strategic alignment
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, translating insights into actionable strategies
- Oversee the development of short- and long-term technology roadmaps
- Ensure alignment with security, regulatory, and risk management frameworks
- Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and architectural excellence across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 12 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cloud, and data domains
- 7 years in enterprise or solution architecture leadership roles, managing architecture teams and large-scale initiatives
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale solutions across cloud and on-prem environments
- Strong experience leading technology transformation and modernization efforts
- Experience in regulated environments and familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO, COBIT, or similar
- Demonstrated success in building and executing enterprise architecture strategies
