Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are availabile in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.
We are seeking an Archives Assistant on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is on-site in San Francisco, CA.
In this role merging project management and employee engagement, you will support the day-to-day activities of the Corporate Archives and advance the team’s access-building initiatives. As a go-to tour guide, you’ll be the energy visitors feel when they walk through the doors. Your versatile research skills, interest in fashion, knack for storytelling, and create compelling layouts of archival material will help the team bring the brands’ histories to life. When you are not responding to business requests, you will help coordinate work with external vendors and other teams, and apply your attention to detail and methodology to ongoing digitization and processing initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Coordinates archival projects, not limited to asset intake, movement, and processing
- Leads tours and supports activations, installations, and other engagement initiatives at corporate hub(s)
- Responds to research requests
- Rehouses and scans physical archival assets and uploads digital files per team guidelines
- Supports maintenance of onsite and offsite storage spaces
- General project management and other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree or coursework in library science, archival/museum studies, or a related field, a plus
- Minimum 1 year of experience in archival assistance, preferably in a corporate environment
- Detail-oriented person with strong organizational and administrative skills
- Demonstrated comfort in public speaking and a friendly, energetic demeanor
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and digital imaging software
- Good communication, customer service, and writing skills are required, as is the ability to be a self-starter who works independently or within a team
