The Modern Hive is Omaha's premier full-service interior design firm — an award-winning studio known for crafting spaces that are equal parts stunning and livable. We're growing with intention, and to get to the next level, we need a sharp, connected, people-first relationship builder to help us get there. That person is our new Business Development Strategist — and it might be you.


ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a field-based, relationship-first growth role. You won't be sitting behind a desk cold-calling strangers. You'll be out in the Omaha market — meeting with custom home builders, luxury realtors, architects, and corporate relocation contacts — building the kind of trusted relationships that lead to signature, high-value design projects.

Think of yourself as the bridge between the community and the Hive. You'll own the pipeline from first handshake to signed contract, then pass the baton to our design team to work their magic.

This role is perfect if you're driven by building real connections, energized by a longer, more strategic sales cycle, and excited to represent a brand that people genuinely love.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build Meaningful Relationships & Grow Our Community

  • Form genuine connections with custom home builders, luxury realtors, and architects across the Omaha metro
  • Dream up thoughtful, creative ways to stay in touch — the kind that make people excited to hear from us
  • Keep a warm, well-organized pipeline of beautiful, high-value projects using our CRM (Dubsado – no prior experience necessary)
  • Show up where it matters — networking events, local gatherings, and spaces our ideal clients love

Guide Clients from First Hello to Signed Contract

  • Lead relaxed, engaging discovery calls that feel more like conversations than sales pitches
  • Create and present polished, personalized proposals
  • Gently guide clients through the decision-making process — knowing when to follow up and when to give them breathing room

Create Clients for Life

  • Stay connected beyond the project with thoughtful follow-ups, birthday notes, and holiday surprises
  • Look for natural opportunities to continue supporting our clients while representing our brand with care and pride

Stay Aligned & Inspired

  • Connect weekly with our CEO and collaborate in person once a week
  • Keep our CRM tidy and up-to-date (we love a clean system!)
  • Keep a pulse on your numbers and share progress along the way


\WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or relationship management
  • A demonstrated track record of closing high-value, consultative sales, you can speak to specific results
  • A polished, warm presence that reflects a luxury brand without feeling stiff or stuffy
  • Self-direction and accountability — you set your own weekly plan and execute it
