The Model Bakery Retail Assistant Manager
As Retail Assistant Manager, you are a key member of the retail store management team. In this role, you will be a critical leader in the store coaching, developing, and motivating the retail team to directly impact Model Bakery’s organizational goals. You will report directly to both Retail Manager and Executive Chef. You will manage a team of retail staff and baristas to deliver work with the spirit of service, excellence, professionalism, kindness, compassion, and respect of others
Qualifications and requirements:
· Work weekends
- Demonstrates a passion for hospitality and taking care of people
· Must maintain current state issued SERVSafe Manager Certificate
· Able to work full time (the work regularly demands early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
· Ability to lead change, deal with the ambiguity, and the prioritizing needed to run a fast-paced environment
· Management experience in specialty coffee, bakery, and/or retail is required
- Aligns with company direction and communicates critical company strategies and changes to teams as needed
- Ensure execution of all visual merchandising standards
- Toast POS experience preferred
· Minimum High School or GED
- Minimum 2years barista experience and ability to fully run a coffee bar.
Core duties/responsibilities
· Operates with a sense of urgency
· Create and publish FOH/BOH schedules
· Be a liaison of the FOH for all communication to BOH
· Maintain steady and organized flow of in store and online orders during peak hours
· Taking daily inventory of baked goods
· Uphold bakery culture
· Ensuring customer satisfaction
· Interviewing & onboarding new hires
· Employee check-ins/reviews (30/60/90/yearly)
· General inventory management & ordering
· Maintain quality control of coffee bar flow and beverages
· Participate in monthly management and retail meetings
· Communicates regularly with team, provides positive and constructive feedback, and holds quarterly staff meetings
· Models hospitality and is in service to the customer
· Know all products, including ingredients, quality consistency positioning, and signage with the ability to answer questions that might come up from staff or customers
· Managing effective workflow on the retail floor
- Recognizes and rewards team members to strengthen engagement and cultivate teamwork
· Experience managing a profitable & operationally sound single café/restaurant preferred
