Department Summary:

Typical projects include:
Performing detailed modeling and simulation of navigation system performance
Prototyping waveforms or algorithms in software defined radios
Testing and evaluating leading edge hardware in PNT, both in the lab and in the field
Roles & Responsibilities:
Developing, applying, and evaluating state-of-the-art signal processing algorithms for navigation and communication systems (radio navigation, wireless communications, vision navigation, etc.)
- Developing, applying, and evaluating next generation signals for communications, satellite, and radio navigation
- Developing, applying, and evaluating techniques for detecting, locating, and identifying signals
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, C , or other modeling and data analysis software tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
- Desire to apply a strong math background to real-world applications and to develop skills in communications, navigation, and timing
- This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a related discipline
- Experience with applying theory to real world applications
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
- The ability to build collaborative and mutually beneficial working relationships with people of different backgrounds
