Job Summary:
To ensure the safety of members/guests including accident prevention in the water and on surrounding areas. The rescue and care of accident victims.
Essential Duties/Functions:
- Reinforce pool rules with members and guests.
- Answer the lifeguard desk phone and answer any questions members might have.
- Make sure members sign in every time they visit including their potential guests.
- Provide first aid to any person in need.
- Keep lifeguard desk and bathhouse stocked with clean towels.
- Tidy up the bathhouses after every lifeguard rotation.
- Responsible for opening and closing the pool.
- Keep a 20-minute rotation guarding schedule.
- Help with swimming lessons.
- Ensuring that the pool area is clean and tidy.
- Responsible for removal of food waste, cleaning tables, and tidying pool deck area of towels, toys, and debris.
- Other duties as needed by the business.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong swimming proficiency
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a thorough understanding of first aid and CPR techniques.
- Strong leadership skills to handle emergency situations.
- Attention to detail and observation.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Previous lifeguard experience and teaching swim lessons is preferred.
