Job Summary:
The Dishwasher plays a critical role in supporting the overall success of the culinary team by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation throughout all food service operations.
Essential Duties/Functions:
- Wash all dishes, flatware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils promptly and thoroughly using both commercial dish machines and hand washing techniques.
- Inspect all dishware to ensure complete cleanliness and proper sanitation before returning to service areas.
- Maintain correct chemical levels, temperatures, and procedures for dish machines and sanitizing stations.
- Empty and clean dish machine filters, spray arms, and drains regularly per manufacturer guidelines.
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain work surfaces, prep tables, cutting boards, sinks, storage areas, shelving, and food contact surfaces throughout shift.
- Assist in nightly line breakdown, including wiping, sanitizing, and resetting stations for next day’s service.
- Maintain clean and dry floors in all kitchens, stewarding, and service areas throughout the shift.
- Collect, transport, and dispose of all kitchen trash, recycling, and food waste throughout the shift.
- Assist with cleaning major kitchen equipment and perform scheduled deep cleaning projects directed by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong work ethic with consistent attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and productive during high volume or banquet operations.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Prior dishwashing or kitchen support experience is helpful but not required.
- Standing and walking 8-10 hours per shift.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting with a maximum weight of 20lbs.
- Regular exposure to hot, humid, and wet kitchen environments.
