Summary
The ERP Program Manager will be responsible for the overall successful planning, execution, and delivery of a multi-year, enterprise-wide ERP implementation and/or modernization program. This role requires a blend of deep technical understanding, strong program and project management expertise, strategic business acumen, and exceptional leadership skills to manage complex dependencies, mitigate risks, and ensure the program aligns with organizational goals and delivers expected business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership & Strategy: Define the overall ERP program vision, scope, governance structure, and execution roadmap in collaboration with executive sponsors and key stakeholders. Ensure alignment between the ERP program and the organization's strategic objectives.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for the program, managing expectations and communication with executive leadership, department heads, system integrators, vendors, and internal project teams.
- Program Management & Delivery:
- Oversee a portfolio of interconnected projects within the ERP program (e.g., system selection, implementation, data migration, change management, training).
- Develop and manage the integrated program plan, budget, resource allocation, and timeline across all projects.
- Establish and enforce best-practice methodologies (e.g., waterfall, agile, hybrid) and program management standards.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, and manage program-level risks, issues, and dependencies. Develop and implement effective mitigation and contingency plans.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Manage relationships, contracts, and performance of external system integrators and software vendors. Monitor and control the program budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Change Management: Partner with the Organizational Change Management (OCM) team to ensure effective communication, training, and transition strategies are in place to maximize user adoption and minimize business disruption.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure the delivered solution meets business requirements, technical specifications, and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT and business program/project management.
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience managing end-to-end, large-scale, complex ERP implementations (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday).
- Proven experience managing budgets exceeding $5 million and leading teams of 20 internal and external resources.
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification is highly preferred. Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or equivalent is a plus.
