What you will be doing
- As a Lead Press Operator you take responsibility for your assigned press team, operations and products on a day to day basis. You know how to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment with your team to drive outstanding results through mentoring, training and guiding new team members in your craft and the print process.
- Assess preliminary needs and job specifications prior to the product run. During the print cycle you will assess trims, alignment, correctness of folds, ink quality, color quality and clarity . Identify and remediate quality issues appropriately and on a timely basis to minimize rework. Contribute to Continuous Improvement/Lean initiatives.
- Perform job in manner that protects your health and safety and the health and safety of all employees in the workplace and identify any potential or existing hazards, risks or gaps.
- Prepare key production data and records for all jobs; working cross functionally with customer service, quality and other teams as needed.
- Notify supervisor if and when press time or product quality is impacted; perform routine and ad-hoc maintenance and partner with Maintenance team as needed.
What you will need
- Must fully understand all press processes and operations.
- 5 years of experience running a web printing press.
- Must be able to plan and organize effectively.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- A high school diploma or GED
