Warehouse Associate (General Laborer)

Overview:

Our client is currently seeking dependable Warehouse General Laborers to support daily operations in a fast-paced building-materials distribution environment. This role handles receiving, put-away, order picking, staging, loading, inventory control, and general housekeeping with a strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving & Put-Away: Unload inbound trucks; verify counts and condition; tag and put away product to designated bin locations.
• Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and stage customer orders using RF scanners and pick lists; ensure accuracy and damage-free handling.
• Loading/Shipping: Safely load outbound trucks and company vehicles; secure loads per company standards.
• Material Handling: Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks
• Quality & Safety: Inspect materials for damage; follow OSHA and company safety procedures.
• General Support: Break down pallets, bale/recycle packaging, maintain clean aisles and docks, and assist with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience: 6 months in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment preferred (building materials experience a plus).
• Equipment: Pallet jack/hand truck required;
• Technology: Basic RF scanner use and ability to learn WMS/ERP screens; comfortable with pick tickets and shipping docs.
• Lift, carry, push/pull up to 75 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, and reach for most of the shift; work in varying temperatures.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Warehouse/dock environment with forklifts and truck traffic
• Standard shift: Monday–Friday
• Breaks provided per company policy

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: $17 per hour
