Job Overview:
As the Facility Operations Team Manager, you’re responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of Metropolitan buildings and related facilities, including residential, recreation, lodging, and kitchen structures. Ensures functionality, safety, and cleanliness across all areas, managing systems such as fire life safety, facility condition assessment/capital investment planning, emergency management operations, HVAC, electrical, lighting, and building equipment. Directs general repairs, construction projects, data center maintenance, office space planning and relocations, modular and standalone furniture procurement, and service contracts administration, including but not limited to landscaping, janitorial, and cafeteria services, while driving energy conservation initiatives.

Schedule:44/36, Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience: An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and eight years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, of which two years must have been in a project management, supervisory, or lead capacity; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and six years of increasingly responsible relevant experience, or which two years must have been in a project management, supervisory, or lead capacity.
Increasingly responsible relevant experience is defined as: Building plant equipment including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; life safety systems; general construction practices; federal, state and city, fire and building codes and regulations; building management practices; preventative maintenance programs; facility condition assessments/capital investment planning; emergency management/incident command post; management and supervisory concepts and techniques; budgetary practices, concepts, and procedures; relevant federal, state, and local laws; negotiation techniques; project management; contract administration; trends and emerging technologies of facility management and building safety and security; and customer relationship management.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment, International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Facility Management Professional (FMP) (Highly Desirable), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Facilities Management Certification (FMC) (Highly Desirable)
