Our services include electrical repairs, service and installations, water treatment, boiler repairs, service and installations, HVAC repairs, water services & testing, regulatory compliance, and various other valuable building services. The electrical division of the Metro Group is currently seeking a motivated Estimator for our Electrical Installation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating installation and repair of Electrical systems and projects. The Estimator would be responsible for estimating and providing a detail pricing for development of bid quotation and bid packages. The role is based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY.

Role and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Preparing cost estimates and proposals, including thorough review of bid documents, development of RFIs, completing project take-offs, collecting pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, accurately identifying labor requirements, etc., in accordance with project documentation
  • Accurately and comprehensively understanding the scope of work and customer requirements to develop a Proposal in line with the desired project outcome.
  • Surveying and evaluating Electrical systems for installation and repair
  • Coordinating with the Field Team and Technical Team for any needed information
  • Working with Estimators in other Departments to submit one coordinated Bid.
  • Providing project cost estimates and Proposals for discussion and review with Install Management
  • Timely and professional submittal of Bids
  • Coordinating with the project management and field operation teams to relay information captured during the estimating phase as well as reviewing job approach and implementation.
  • Educating and providing technical support to our sales team and Customers

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Electrical and/or Mechanical degree preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and working on multiple projects at same time.
  • Excellent time management skills and prioritization of tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and “can do” attitude.
  • Customer-centric
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook/Word/Excel. Knowledge of quoting software.
  • Punctual and detail oriented
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including climbing ladders/stairs to view system components, maneuvering in mechanical rooms, and similar.
  • Clean and valid Driver’s License (a DMV report will be run as part of the application process. Any offer is contingent upon a clean report)
