Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with community schools to insure quality education opportunities to the residents of the Macon Campus.
- Remains informed of trends, research and legislation that may impact the educational environment and the education of residents.
- Develop and track benchmarks for measuring success of the educational opportunities at The Methodist Home.
- Participate in special education activities such as meetings, development of Individual Education Plans, etc.
- Develop and implement school improvement plans and accreditations as needed.
- Oversees and coordinates the enrollment and disenrollment of all Methodist Home residents in their respective schools.
- Coordinates and oversees summer enrichment activities for the students at Price Academy as well as the residents on the Macon Campus.
- Evaluate curricula, teaching methods, and programs to determine their effectiveness, efficiency, and use, and to ensure that school activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations as well as accrediting institutions.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements include but are not limited to the following:
- Master’s Degree in Education Administration or Educational Leadership preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Education with 5 years’ experience in school leadership.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for evaluating curriculum, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups.
- Must have valid teaching certificate.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with minimum of four year driving history and the ability to meet and remain in good standing in accordance with Agency insurance guidelines.
