Overview
The Methodist Foundation of Ohio (MFO) is seeking a motivated and conscientious professional to serve as its Finance Director. MFO is a small, faith-based nonprofit organization with a 20-year growth record, solid financial position and very family-friendly environment.
This is an exempt salary position with full-time benefits for a 30-hour week, including a competitive salary, paid vacation, sick leave, 16% contribution to a 403b account, and generous allowance for health insurance. After-hour work is quite rare, allowing for a predictable schedule and work/life balance.
General Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, this exempt salary position provides all financial services, including an accurate general ledger, client accounts, monthly reconciliations, financial reporting, and tax compliance for a 501 (c)(3) church Foundation.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
· Maintenance of the General Ledger accounts, for the Foundation operations and for multiple program ministries including journal entry postings, payroll, cash account reconciliations and financial reporting.
· Accurately maintain all transactions related to client investments. This includes deposits, reconciliation of account balances, and pricing of invested funds.
· Complete annual tax filings requirements, including Charitable Trusts, Form 1099s, and Form 990s.
· Develop annual budget with the Executive Director and tracks budget throughout the fiscal year.
· Manages banking relationships.
· Work with independent auditors to complete their annual review.
· Cultivate relationships with clients to answer questions concerning accounts; i.e., account balances, annual distributions, deposits/withdrawals.
· Interact with Foundation management, including the Board of Directors to provide accurate and up to date financial reporting.
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance
· 3 years or prior related work experience
· Experience with church administration or other 501(c)3 organizations
Requirements:
· Work regularly scheduled hours of operation for the Methodist Foundation of Ohio and as needed to complete responsibilities pertaining to the position.
· Abide by the guidelines of the MFO Employee Handbook as approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
