What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Product Manager position at The Metal Ware Corp?
In this role, you will own the end-to-end commercial strategy and execution for some of our largest and most impactful small kitchen appliance categories while leading and developing a team. This is more than product management—it’s a highly visible leadership role where you’ll drive innovation, influence cross-functional strategy, mentor and coach team members, and directly impact business growth.
You’ll lead products from concept through launch, partner closely with teams across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, and E-commerce, and serve as the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle.
Please note: This is a hybrid role, and candidates must be able to commute to our office in Two Rivers, WI.
What You'll Do
- Own the product strategy, positioning, and multi-year roadmap for assigned categories and brands
- Identify market opportunities, consumer insights, and emerging trends to drive innovation and profitable growth
- Lead new product development from concept through launch using Metal Ware's Stage-Gate process
- Build compelling business cases, including market sizing, pricing strategy, forecasts, margin targets, and competitive positioning
- Conduct customer, consumer, and channel research to uncover unmet needs and validate product concepts
- Partner with Engineering, Global Sourcing, and Quality teams on product design, supplier selection, feasibility, tooling, and product performance
- Lead competitive analysis, including feature benchmarking, pricing trends, and market intelligence
- Collaborate with Sales and E-commerce teams to align products with retailer and DTC channel strategies
- Drive successful product launches, including launch readiness, packaging direction, sales enablement, and post-launch performance tracking
- Manage existing product portfolios through lifecycle planning, SKU optimization, cost-out initiatives, and end-of-life decisions
- Own commercial performance for assigned categories, including revenue, volume, gross margin, and portfolio contribution
- Manage, coach, and develop assigned team members, including regular 1:1s, development plans, and performance feedback; build their Product Management skills through structured support work and by delegating small categories for them to manage under your oversight, with the explicit goal of developing them toward promotion.
Qualifications & Requirements :
- 5 years of Product Management experience with ownership of products from concept through launch
- Experience within consumer products, small appliances, housewares, or comparable consumer durable goods
- Strong commercial acumen, including forecasting, pricing, margin management, and business case development
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and execution
- Passion for developing people, building strong teams, and leading through collaboration and accountability
